Shavua Tov

'Twas an eventful Shabbat. I was a bit stressed Friday afternoon for no plausible reason that I could think of, but services went well, and I headed to SB's room for dinner. Dinner was in general quite nice, except that cramming 18 people into a regular freshman double just isn't so bright. I was at teh edge fo teh crowd, and got rather overwhelmed by that for a while, but spent some time with just one or two people, and eventually came back and we sang: not in tune, but with much enjoyment. After that, I headed over to TH's for dessert of the delightfully homemade variety, and some pleasant company. But I left that early, as I'd also been invited to OD's, and hadn't said no... All in all,l it was an evening very flattering to Maya's ego. And a great deal of fun. Even if at one point I did get described as looking like a rat by OD's friend from home. ON the other hand, I also got told I looked like TH, which is not something I'd ever have thought of. All in all- they balance out: the former wasn't so thrilling, but the latter was rather flattering, so...

In the more random train of thoughts department: every time I start bentshing with Shir HaMaalot to Scotland the Brave, people always ask me if I'm doing it in some sort of honor or though of LS or ZK. And I just happen to like the tune, and idea, and it's memorable enough that I can always remember the first line without stumbling, but it isn't the same thing yet again. I think that's it for now...
