So Liz and I had our ice tea and cucumber sandwiches party/gathering. It went really well. Consiquently, I'm rather short on sleep, but it was worth it. At the beginning, there were really nearly too many people here for our room set up: it was just a lot of peopel sitting on the floor and my bed, but there were enough of them that it felt none-unified. Later one, there averaged about 4 or 5 folks, and mostly just sort of all curled up on my bed, which was more comfortable, and more communication went on. We did a lot of talking about sci-fi, and games and the like. Today- well, the actual announcement that Raphi is officially going to be gabbay kind of hurt. I thoguht I'd sort of adjusted myself to it and steeled myself up, but I found that I had to cry anyways. So afterwards, I went book buying with BORG. At first, it looked like it was just going to be Dave (KoP) and I, but hwen we got there, Greer and Alastair and Abram found us- the first two had taken the other bus, and I think Abram went in earlier, via some other mode of transit. So we picked out a whole bunch of new books (well, new to us, mostly used) at Pandemonium, a sci-fi bookstore, and then we went out for dinner and then ice cream, and took the bus (the school shuttle) back. Abram sort of wandered off on his own on the bus, but the rest of us were a sort of strange mob: Alastair kept trying to knit, but the lights kept being turned on and off, Greer borrowed my hat, and made occasional squeaky noises, and Dave whistled Kabbalat Shabbat tunes at me for me to guess (because I mentioned that I still had one of them stuck in my head). So we came back, and Dave and I put the books in the library (Go check them out, they're in the shelf under the sign out sheet), and I called Nathan. We talked for a while, very casually, and then Miriam came by and I kvetched to her and Liz about assorted stuff. And I have a field trip tomorrow, so I'd better get to sleep. More details later
