It's been a long day: days without so much schedule tend to feel that way, and I didn't even take a nap. I spent a lot of time working on my Hasidism take-home final, which now simply needs sprucing up before I turn it it tomorrow by 5 pm. Should be doable in an hour or two. So I think I'm decently on track for that. But after this morning, I've been only semi-motivated to work steadily. So instead, I've been speaking with folks on IM as I write, and actually getting a decent amount done, if not as much as I'd have liked in quantity, I guess. But I got close, and with tomorrow's sprucing up, all should be well. I'm well in the middle of the suggested lengths. And I've had some interesting conversations. Mostly with the usual suspects, of course, but fairly insightful conversations for the most part. Some more so than others, but some very interesting indeed.

In the midst of this, I met the female half of the JLI advisors (don't know if I should be calling her Adina, Rebetzin, or Mrs. Fraizer. On the phone, she identified herself as Adina... Ahh, the perpetual naming issue.) for a chevruta, as I asked if we were having shiur tonight and we weren't. We started looking at sources on why orthodox women don't wear tzitzit (ritual fringes). We didn't get to an answer of course, but I did do a tiny, tiny bit of gemara text in the original with much help. It was pretty exciting. I might try to do that regularly next semester: it was a frustrating experience, but incredibly rewarding afterwards, as this sort of thing tends to be. After that, dinner, which was an odd combination of folks: I didn't know quite what to make of it, and the BORG study break. Of course, we'd planned it as a birthday party for KoP-Dave, and he forgot about the meeting and was off watching a movie with Simon. So we hung out and had munchies, and eventually anti-raided his suite. (An Anti-raid because we left things for him rather than taking them.) I still have a book Pilot got for him that he forgot to send with us when we went over, to give to KoP-Dave. (Grr, too many people named David.) It'll all get sorted out eventually.

And then back to working on my final, and more odd conversations. People were just very verbal today, and in interesting and sometimes odd ways. Really odd realizations came up. I'll have more time to mull starting tomorrow, I guess, not that I didn't do whole bunches of it today. Go figure.
Has anyone heard the expression "Go know"? My family uses it all the time, and no one seems to have heard of it
