Shabbos was nice- a bit unusual for me: I got to bed at a more than reasonable hour for me, 11:15ish, didn't get up until just before shul started, but I scooted and got there just before they started (a few minutes late, but still..). Went to the lunch and learn that we had and was very un-interested. I wanted text stuff or serious Jewish content, instead I got cartoons and "Appreciate your life, so you don't end up old and bitter"- nice, but I'd rather have been talking, I guess. SO I went downstairs to do that, and surprise of surprises,
fleurdelis28 and
sophiesphilo showed up with the expected
thevortex. So, my afternoon activities go somewhat without saying-
fleurdelis28 finally got her holiday present (we're pretending it was a groger for Purim rather than a Hannukah present, which it was originally intended to be, but I forgot to bring it last time I saw her... grr.), we talked, there was a game of scrabble in which I did not participate, and an interesting arguement for which I skipped minchah, and hten just went back to my room, as I knew I was meeting Ari directly after Shabbat for dinner with Alexis and her mom and then dancing. Dancing was alright- got to see and dance with Ari, one of my usual Boston partners- Aharon, and Uriel from New York. And Kenny, being Kenny, played a bunch of my requests, including the one or two that utterly confused the old-timers as to who asked for it (Anavai, Marhaba). It's rather amusing to be the only person who knows a dance under the age of 35 in the circle.... Ari took me back, stopped to have ice cream at Chums, and now it's bedtime, since I'm getting up at 5ish am so I can get ready and be at the main gate to leave with B'yachad at 6:50 for the festival. I start working on the opening at 7:30am, in theory (ok, so it'll probably run on Jewish time. But still-argh. COllege students aren't used to that.)
If you're the mystery person I bought a ticket for and don't remember (I thought it was for
tovah623 but apparently not- well, I'm sorry, I didn't know who you were anymore, and no one admitted to being you, so I gave it to Jill from dancing. You can still go- there are tickets being sold at the door. My apologies, should you read this.
But everyone- wish me luck. This is the first time my choreography is beign performed, and I wish we'd had one more rehearsal to repolish, and argh, I'm nervous. I know, I know, it'll be fine. But I'm decidedly nervous about first measures of our last piece- I did not give us enough steps to get to where we need to be on stage. Grrr. We'll see what happens.
