THe drive back was somewhat less nasty than the one home: shorter, if just as rainy (if not worse). Got back, had lunch of sorts at 2ish, and there were probably 15 people in the dining hall total. Dinner was much better attended, although since I'd had a late (if small) lunch, I wasn't terribly hungry. Oh well. Travel tends to do that to me anyways. It's good to be back, just like it was good to be home. Both places feel like where I *should* be- it's confusing. Being home is relaxing (mostly), and comfortable. Being at school is challenging and full of friends, etc, etc, etc, all cheesy. But it isn't just about the good or the bad: it's about some sort of connection to the place. I know, sounds ridiculous, especially from someone who isn't very place-oriented at all. Or at least someone who thinks that she isn't very place-oriented at all.

I really need to get cracking on my choreography for HaMakor, although at least I'm starting to get ideas: the song I get to work with is one that has all sorts of exciting possibilities, thank goodness. If I'd have had to work with the other one we're doing, I'd be in trouble- I'm not terribly fond of it, although I'll be able to perform to it just fine: it just doesn't really inspire me. But it does fit the group's sort of modus operandi for the last few years: a slow song and a fast song, give or take, and with either a story line or a sort of general moving theme. I was thinking of doing a Psalm medley for next year, or maybe even before that, in theory. (But Lord knows it's hard enough to organize us for the festival, let alone for other rehearsals and performances, when several of us are college students and out of town on vacations, and several others have little kids...) But hey, if I were choreographing it for somethign other than the festival, I could pick a number of people and just do it, rather than having to wait and find out how many people I'm working with- I still don't know: could be anywhere from 5 to 8, last I heard. Makes it hard to do a final choreography. Although I think I should be able to do at least an opening with both an even number and an odd number version... And I think I want to start with a short solo for somene anyways...
