Finished waterproofing my boots today, and proceeded to spill much of the waterproofing stuff (aka, the toxic substance) on the basement floor (aha, there was after all a reason for doing this in the basement). So there's now a petroleum-product induced stain on the basement floor, which is probably also the only Clean part of the basement floor (in the nature of basement floors). At least, I'm going to blame the lack of dusty-look on that. May or may not be true. BUt it was a, err, dramatic moment, which Mom was Very good about.

In other news of the day:
Dentist's appointment went well: no cavities, but apparently I grind my teeth in my sleep a bit. Must remember to start going to sleep with my tongue sticking between my teeth again- I did for a while for some reason which I've forgotten, and I seem to have ceased doing so. Maybe starting again will help, if I can remember to do so without keeping myself up.

Finished Eats, Shoots and Leaves, which was a fun refresher on punctuation, and from which I learned that apparently my elementary education taught me some punctuation that is decidedly British-fashion: I firmly believe that there are times when punctuation should follow end-quotation marks rather than being inside them. Of course, it neglected to inform me of my usual confusion- where to put footnote-indicator-number-thingies: inside or outside the quotation marks? But it was a fun read, and quick. Now back to Sexual Politics, if I can find where I put it down last. Read a bit more, got a bit annoyed by the Adam and Eve story analysis which I've done in detail from a more accurate perspective with Infinitely better translations. Also which I've studied with serious scholars twice in the last two years... Ahh, well, this book was not written for NEJS majors or their equivalents.

Thought of the day: from [livejournal.com profile] jakal88, on insanity and a typo of mine: "I like insnae better it conveys the situation concisely"
