Quiet Shabbat- Except The Bloomin' Noise

Shabbat was quite nice: a bit of a rocky start, and after that really lovely- except that music on the lawn in front of the Green Kryptonite Palace was loud enough that I could hear it from my room. Luckily it didn't start until 8:50- 5 minutes before I left my room, but it definitely shortened my afternoon nap on both ends. Grr. Post-Shabbat we went to ice cream with tovah623 and her SO, and Steve and Steve, whom we ran into randomly when we got there. Ahh, running into bunches of people from one's own educational institution on the streets of a town several towns over... In the meantime, had an actually fairly reasonable gabbay selection committee meeting. I didn't end up getting quite the set up I'd thought would be best, but this seems reasonable, and I seem to be slowly working people over to my perspective: the whole 2 or 3 gabbayim issue came up again, and while we went for 2, there was an acknowledgement that except for the particular people involved, and worries about communication, it might be a good idea... Also learned today that the gabbay wisdom document seems to have gotten lost in transmission somewhere. Not sure I have it still myself. Need to find a copy for the incoming gabbay-type. Now, if I did still have it, where would it be? Dunno. Think I'll fall on the mercy of someone who might actually still have it...
