No, this won't be that long of a post- I'm going to bed quite soon. But today really was THanksgiving Part 1. Due to several inches of snow upon awakening, even though the roads were cleared and quite safe within a few hours here, we ended up postponing (after Much telephone discussion amoung the parties concerned) the family get-together until Saturday (the weather seemed worse where the uncle, aunt and cousins are). So today Dad and I made a special meal of the dairy sort- veggie soup with kneidlakh, blintzes and homemade oatmeal bread and apple pie, and we were going to save the turkey for Saturday. But there is worry that a fresh kosher turkey will not keep that long, so we may well eat it tomorrow, especially as the uncle, aunt and kids have had turkey today as a family unit. We'll see. So we had a latish lunch of special food, then Dad set off for work to make his appearance at their event for the kids who don't have homes to go home to, and we hung out. And then this evening we watched an Indiana Jones moving, and I was puzzled at the lack of stirring melodramatic mega-ending. And so ends Thanksgiving part 1. Stay tuned for Part 2 after Shabbos.
