1. I broke a plate. Turns out (I think) that it was one of the small plates. At the time, I was positive it was a large plate, and then was totally confused when I went to serve Shabbat dinner and there were all 5 of the regular/large plates there. So then I figured that it must be a bowl that broke, although the fragments didn't seem like the right shapes for a bowl, because one was missing. But that bowl was just the one we're currently using to hold lentils because the bag that they were in broke. And doing dishes seems to prove my final theory. So it's a pity that a dish broke, but not the end of the world.

2. Shabbat dinner was interesting- the food went over well, even if it was cold by the time we got to eating it, due to some scheduling mishaps with services. But my guests got into a conversation that was so interesting and engrossing that they sort of forgot about me a little. Wasn't terrible, just not the best moment of my shabbos. I rather wish I hadn't taken that moment to get funky- they were talking about the homosexuality debate, and that's something I'm interested in.

3. Last night I actually managed to take [livejournal.com profile] zodiacmg out rather than vice versa- not that the difference is huge, but it was sort of satisfactory in this hard to describe way. We went to the Early Music Ensemble concert, which was pleasant if not hugely skilled all the time, and which had more vocal music than I'd been hoping for (I am still, somewhere deep down, a Baroque Ensemble geek, left over from middle school). And we left at intermission with Steve who'd been in said concert and her parents and Steve, and went out for ice cream. Afterwards, we went to the Swing dance, and I at least had quite a nice time.

4. Did lots of dishes earlier today, and I cleaned the cabinets. And Amy mopped the kitchen floor. And this afternoon we're going to go pick up a table from some friends of hers who have an extra one somehow. I think I'm going to go do a little more kitchen cleaning, and filling out of applications, and reading for thesis. And at some point, there Will be work on the Yiddish paper. Really and truly.
