I had a nice conversation with a dear friend who happens to have been my first boyfriend tonight, and we were talking about a recent experience I had with another former boyfriend and I somehow blurted out something like "but he's my ex", to which the natural response was "so am I", and then I stuttered out some sort of answer that didn't make any sense. But it's sort of funny in retrospect.

Pretzels and cream cheese taste really good together. Especially with chive and onion cream cheese, which I now have because I did a humongous grocery shop this afternoon. But I needed new toiletries- pretty much all of them, and I needed rubber gloves, and to generally stock up for this semester.

I need to find a better place to pray in the morning- with my apartmentmates not home, I've been praying in the kitchen or the foyer, and it's worked much better. Going Somewhere seems ot help me schedule around prayer, and helps me not get quite as distracted: it's a focal tool. But there isn't so much a place to go when other people are home/awake, and it's too cold out usually to daven outside this time of year. And morning minyan days when there's no egal doesn't work so well: I still don't think it would be acceptable to show up with appropriate ritualwear to the Orthodox minyan.

Speaking of ritualwear, I went Tuesday with [livejournal.com profile] pallasrosalind to the fabric store and bought material to make a tallit katan. I'm not sure what making/wearing one will quite be like, but I seem to be ready to try it out. So that's an experiment for the near future.

And the beloved sibling is coming up to this area to visit with a friend of hers who's also her ex-boyfriend from several years ago (like, 4 years ago. Oy that's a long time.) And I should get to see her at dancing, and possibly some other time. Of course she wanted to get together Sunday night which is when [livejournal.com profile] zodiacmg is getting back to campus- talk about little unpleasant conflicts of time. So we may get together and do something Saturday night, or we may try for Monday, we'll see.
