So work is cancelled for today- I'm rather relieved, as I have very little practice driving in snow, and it took my professor 2 hours to do what is usually as 1/2 hour drive (so we didn't have Aramaic, sadly). And it means I can do some thesis work/finish up my JTS application stuff besides having [livejournal.com profile] zodiacmg edit the essay. But well- this means that unless it really rains and wipes away most of the snow, it's rather less likely that I'll get up the guts to drive to dancing tonight. We'll see. If it's likely to stay enough over freezing that the roads won't ice up, it's more likely. Missing a week wouldn't be the end of the world- but it would be nice to get to dancing.

But we had our very first Egal minyan ma'ariv last night, and it was well attended and went well (and there were cookies). It's very exciting to see us add another regular service to our schedule: a real change from my first year here. It's funny how demographics change in such a short time. I wonder if it's the result of continued work and dedication by those of us involved, or if it's just because more people happen to have been coming to Brandeis who are interested in weekday egalitarian prayer. Or if it's some of both. I don't know if there really is a way to know or not.

Just shovelled out my car- and the stairs/path to my building. (As this does not seem to be something my landlady or her brother, who is generally around working at the pizza joint downstairs, seem to take care of for us.) I got a funny look or two from someone who seems to live in the house next-door.

Soon- time to do accumulated dishes, some mine, many my apartmentmates', but they're both a bit under the weather, might as well clear the sink some.
