I went from Rochester on Monday morning to NYC (speaking of which, <lj user="rymenhild"> I'm sorry for our crossed communication paths while I was there) , arriving Monday around 5:30 into the city, just after 6pm home. Today I wrote my Talmud final (having done most of the work well beforehand), brooded over it, watched some Doctor Who (<lj user="jakal88"> and I saw a few episodes over Christmas, in substitution for going to a movie, because there was nothing we were both interested in seeing out, along with half an episode of Star Trek, and some rather unimpressive figure skating, and I got hooked) on the computer, did laundry and the like, and then headed off for my parents' place, where I arrived around 7:30pm, and have been ever since. I'll be here until Friday, and I'm starting to lose track of where I am, just a bit...
Still, Mom made me dinner- fish, salad, and a gluten-free corn muffin that was quite good, and we planned food for tomorrow night (we're having my best friend from home and his parents, and maybe the guy across the street over for dinner). That was interesting- my folks are much more devoted to recipes than I am when it comes to having people over. I do the recipe thing sometimes, but fairly often I take an idea from a recipe and just improvise. Still, this is a nice way to get new ideas. Tomorrow afternoon, Dad and I are going to cook together, which should be quite pleasant. After we did the food concept stuff, they taught me a rather nice couples' dance. So it was quite a nice night.
Tomorrow will be cooking, maybe some photo-album stuff (it's been a "job" I've been involved in working on for years, except that Mom and I have let it get quite out of date, so there's a bunch of catching up for us to do), and then <lj user="jakal88"> and I will try to catch each other some time when we don't have company And he isn't off at his New Years plans. It should be quite the logistical puzzle...
Now to rummage up a good book and head off to bed.
