Today I had a nice quiet day (after a relatively peaceful set of chag and shabbat), in which I did a variety of different fabric-arts related things.  I made a few flowers-on-bobby-pins, mostly for myself, from some of the flowers I was so crazy about making over winter break and the beginning of this semester.  So now I have one matched set, and a few singletons, a few of which were a bit experimental.  We'll see what I think of them, before I make some more to give away.

Then I worked on a challah cover that I'm making for someone else.  I think I just want to back it with a stronger fabric: it has a variety of flowers and whatnot sewn on, and the fabric is seeming a bit flimsy.  On the other hand, it isn't quite what I was envisioning.  So we'll see whether I like it enough to finish, or if it'll just languish around here while I make them something else, or a better challah cover.

Most excitingly (for me at least: probably quite dull otherwise), I picked up work on a patchwork quilt project that I started partway through high school, which I haven't done much real work on since partway through college.  I've dragged it with me all over the place, but I just got pretty sick of it at one point, and hadn't done anything much with it in ages.   So today I finished the last row of squares (I decided a while back that it would just be an afgan for sitting around, rather than a full blanket- I just don't have quite that much patience for this particuar project anymore), and started sewing it onto a backing piece of cloth.  I got a substantial amount of that done.  It's rather exciting to think that I might well have the thing done and be able to use it sometime in the forseeable future.

Due to all that sewing, I didn't do a whole lot else, but it was quite a nice way to spend a day.  Tomorrow I should get some actual work sorts of things done as well, but for today, I feel quite satisfied.
