Today was a sort of timeless day, interspersed with a few delightful small excitements.  The first came when I got dressed and decided to wear my new (to me) skirt that we bought yesterday, and I found that it is actually fully reversible.  The pattern that I hadn't seen is in very similar colors (black background, flowers in red) but more exciting than the one I thought was the only one, when I bought it.

The other excitements were getting the webcam that [livejournal.com profile] jakal88 bought for me, for our use especially while I'm overseas, and managing with Dad's help to install both Skype and the webcam successfully.  (If you have Skype, let me know to look for you, ok?)

This evening, Dad and I also helped Mom by writing down what we heard from an intelligibility test she did with one of her clients.  The gentleman has some sort of ataxia.  The actual process was not at all exciting- but comparing what I heard with what Dad heard at the end had its own amusement value, and it's good to help Mom.  I do wonder what people in her work (speech pathology) do when they don't have resident relatives to help them make lists of words with particular sounds, or try to understand recordings of people's speech...  Or realistically, I'm sure they conscript their friends, or hire high school students or something.
