Cooling Down Post Dancing

Shabbos was an adventure this week. I had dinner at [livejournal.com profile] gimmelgirl's, and got sort of overtired and overwhelmed and left early. The sleep was fabulous though. This morning I took an adventure to Hadar (getting mildly confused by Another church with red doors on the way there, and when I inquired of someone walking into that building if there were Jewish services being held in teh basement, I was advised "there are some Jewish people- follow them".) And my Talmud chevruta read haftarah for the first time, and did a very good job. She had that characteristic pause between words that goes with one's first time doing this sort of thing, but it went very well. And then I got to shmooze with some folks from Brandeis, among others. I came back and hosted a small lunch that was very pleasant, after which I cleaned up and it was time for mincha.

At Mincha we didn't make a minyan, which was sort of frustrating, especially as there was someone with us who needed to say kaddish. However, in the waiting, Steve mentioned a "mechina lunch", and I got rather unhappy at the thought of my classmates having davka a class lunch without even inviting me. Turns out he was wrong, and he wrote and apologized. So- that was the low point of my day.

After Shabbos I made havdallah with some of my building mates, and we hung out and chatted for a while, and I ended up starting my evening with part of the Shake Rabbis and Roll concert, which I cut out of early to go to [livejournal.com profile] calliope_epic's birthday party, which was fun but which I left early to go to the IFD mini-marathon at the Y- someplace I don't usually go. It was a better time than expected, and I got a ride home from someone I know from dance camp from several years ago, which made things easier- but which means I got home at 3:20am. Minyan tomorrow's going to be interesting if I make it... ok, think I'm cool enough for sleep now.
