HUmor Where Humor is Due

I just walked to run some errands, and when I returned, I found myself without keys- I think I never moved them back to my regular purse after SHabbat. So I was contemplating just getting my bike out and running my other errands- but my helmet is inside the house. I was going to call my folks- realized I'd left my cellphone inside, charging, and I didn't think my neighbors had a spare key anymore either. So I walked around the house looking for an open window, found open, pressed the screen up and open (I don't think they're actually supposed to do that- but it's an older house, and they're old and lousy windows)- and climbed in by standing on a drain. Must have looked quite, quite ridiculous. Either that, or like I was a particularly dumb robber. Please, do laugh.

I always did think your neighborhood needed a pay phone.

Lately, everywhere is in need of payphones. (There used to be one by Walgreens- I think it's still there...) They seem to assume that everyone has a cell phone, and that just isn't right- lots of people don't. Having one makes my life while travelling ever so much easier for that reason. But I don't see why more pay phones, or at least maintaining the ones that exist would be so much to ask for...
