Well, class is over for the semester, which isn't really quite hitting home. But that's college life. Beth invited me for Shabbat one weekend over break, since she's really not That far away, which excites me. I like being home, I don't like being home for Shabbat so much.
Why do people make such a production over things that should be so simple? I'm helping ot organize dinner for a friend, and all of a sudden it's this hush hush secret- as if people don't understand that a table only fits so many people. And everyone has their issues of various sorts. It's just too complicated. Why can't one just plan a meal, cook it, have the people who said that they'd come come and the rest not, serve it, enjoy and be done? (And, of course, do dishes. You never escape dishes.) People just get far too invested in really ridiculous details sometimes. Not that I fall for it less than they do- I'm pretty sure I'm just as bad, if not worse on occacsion. But that still doesn't mean that I understand it.
