Also called "Today I turned green and grew a tail." (The story behind that one is that Dave mentioned that Mesechtah Megillah tells us that Vashti refused to dance for her husband (King Achashveros) and his drunk friends was taht she'd turned green and grown a tail. Talk about weird Talmud fact of the day. Naomi and I checked it with Rabbi Fraiser- it's there all right. Weird, weird, weird. Memorable as heck though.

In other news, today's HaMakor rehearsal was an exercise in poor timing. We had an hour to work on our first piece, which is one minute long. Way too much time. ANd then Judith and Felicia were somewhere between 20 and 25 minutes late, leaving us about 45 minutes to work on the last 2 pieces, and that's with some extra time we got because the group after us was still waiting for other people. And for once, Aaron Beckman is my hero- he let us play our music on his sound system, which was significantl louder than my laptop, of course, and also m laptop was running low on batteries. But in any case- our last piece is still kind of shakey. It may very well be an exercise in adrenaline. At least we have costumes ordered and they should come either tomorrow or at least by Wednesday. Should be an adventure. But in an case, after we all were Very ready to leave (I thought Naomi would be waiting around in my room doing her work- not a nice thing to do to a guest. As it was, she was elsewhere until about midnight. Everyone else had other reasons.) and we had to run the last piece again in the hall for Judith and discuss costuming (we have a coat of many colors- and it works, I'm Very pleased) and possibly another rehearsal. This is going to be a busy week. Oh well- I'll sleep someday. Maybe Friday.

AFter rehearsal, we set off to return to campus- and got immediatel drastically lost. What was supposed to be a 20 minute car ride took us something like an hour and fourty minutes. We got So, So lost. Lost to the point where we didn't even know what town we were in. I think at one point we asked out loud for a pillar of fire to guide us, in the hopes that we'd actuall get a gas station. We did, eventually. (Well, clearly, as I'm here in m room, writing this entry). But it took us far, far too long. And it was tense- and I dealt, but I was a bit on the giggly and hysterical side by the time I got back. It was an, err, misadventure. One of the sort in which Samara, Matthew and I specialize. Sad- but true.

That said, I didn't get any homework done today. I'll have to do it tomorrow morning. Eep. Not smart.
