I just walked to run some errands, and when I returned, I found myself without keys- I think I never moved them back to my regular purse after SHabbat. So I was contemplating just getting my bike out and running my other errands- but my helmet is inside the house. I was going to call my folks- realized I'd left my cellphone inside, charging, and I didn't think my neighbors had a spare key anymore either. So I walked around the house looking for an open window, found open, pressed the screen up and open (I don't think they're actually supposed to do that- but it's an older house, and they're old and lousy windows)- and climbed in by standing on a drain. Must have looked quite, quite ridiculous. Either that, or like I was a particularly dumb robber. Please, do laugh.

First off- since [livejournal.com profile] fleurdelis28 was showing off her amusing computer generated icon, I figured I'd dig up the one I did, and do the same- I feel like a lemming. (Reminds me of a joke from my senior year of high school- my sister and best friend popped into my classroom before first period started, asked me/my teacher "what sound does a lemming make?" and left.

So, besides my forgotten keys incident, today's been busy, busy, busy- both literally and in the incomprehensible events sense. I got back in, got all my biking gear- and found that of course, my sister's bike (mine needs a new back tire still) needed air in the tires. So I set out with it, walking, to the gas station. Instead, one of my neighbors (whose son sat next to me from 5th to 11th grades in either band or orchestra, and with whom I now usually go to shul) lent me their handpump, and told me just to put it back in their garage when I was done. SO I biked out to Barnes&Noble, and surrounding environs (fun word), and put in a few applications. So I biked home, missed my turn, figured I'd take the next one, and that was a long time coming, and didn't go through to the next major street up- so I kept going, took the next one. I had to keep on going up, then left, then up some more, then left- I came out on the Other side of my house from where I'd started. Very much the long way home.

I got back, and had gotten an email offering an interview someplace where I'd sent an email early last week, and had given up on. I'm not sure what they're interviewing me for, but an interview is generally a good thing. Still, I'm keeping on putting in applications. Wiser that way.

So I took a break, moved some books, and went out to mow the lawn, which I did, on and off, for nearly 2 hours. (This makes more sense with the explanation that my family has a real push mower: some wheels, a rotating blade, and a handle. And everything has to be gone over 2-5 times. It's a serious workout, even though we don't have a particularly large lawn.) I think I got a little sunburned- I sweated off my sunblock, I think. And I burn incredibly easily, anyways.

ANd then, after dinner, guess where I went, on my driving lesson with Dad- you guessed it, Barnes&Nobles. Not even my favorite bookstore, but the big, expensive practical one (humorously, when I first typed that, it was Darnes&Nobles). But still, I biked there and back (an accomplishment, I guess- it's a longer ride for me, and I hadn't been biking since just before the winter really started) and then drove there and back too.

I guess this whole ramble is summed up with "it was a housewifely sort of day".
