Mom and I went for a brief shop this afternoon- I got out of work early for a (surprise for me- I'd forgotten about it) dentist's appointment. We did some weeding first, and then went and got some plants for the yard, then hit Goodwill. As we were looking at clothes, I had this odd impulse to look as much as possible for tznius (modest) (to use the horridly improper Yinglish, but tzanua, the correct Hebrew, sounds like a noun in English) clothing- strange because it's not something that I'm invested in, besides a few general principles, not the actual rules. I go through periods of caring more and caring less, and this is definitely one of caring more- but the degree to which it was on my mind as I was looking at clothes surprised me considerably. I'm not sure what's making me more aware of it- usually when I'm home, I'm less so than at school.
