Work today was somehow more tiring than it should have been- this has been a week for being tired, for some reason. Admittedly I spent a lot of today either watching Caleb or walking around with him outside- I think Amy occasionally runs out of what for me to do in the office capacity, and he's been a real attention hog of late, so between teh two, I'm getting to be a darn well paid babysitter. So I was charged to take the baby for a walk and get my boss lunch- ran into someone I knew from high school (her younger sister was in a bunch of my classes) who was very relieved to know that it wasn't my baby, and apparently one of my mother's friends/accent modification clients saw me and asked Mom about that too. But other than that, I made a slew of phone calls, including to the presidents of the assorted rabbinical schools, or rather, to their secretaries, except for one, who answered the phone himself and when asked if he'd be staying over at Yale or not (I was calling to ask for bios and pictures for a program they're doing about the future of American Judaism) he was quite nicely blunt about the fact that he had to go home and talk with his wife before he could give an answer for that.
Dancing was an effort- we had only one person there besides the parents and I, from 7:45 until almost 9. It's hard to keep up energy in that small a crowd. So I worked pretty hard at that, and then felt like I could relax when Leng took over- except that I guess I shouldn't have: I was sort of disengaged, and apparently looked bored. Mostly I was daydreaming as I danced- I didn't have much else to focus on. Oh well.
I came home and took a nap, but I'm tired again. Annoying. I like sleep, but I also like to be able to be up and have my time to relax on my own once my folks are asleep. So, I guess I should go sleep...
