Got up mid-morning, did some random stuff around my room until lunch. From lunch,
zodiacmg and I got some stuff from his room, and left for the bus (with a bunch of time to spare, as I wasn't sure exactly how long it would take to walk to the bus we needed) just before 2. That bus took significantly longer than expected, but another of the next bus we needed came fairly shortly thereafter. From there, we took the T, and from there we walked, except that we got lost. Amusingly (afterwards) every time I had an instinct for which way to turn, the opposite was correct. So we eventually got to Felicia's house, only 10 minutes late, and still before Judith (the woman who choreographed the other piece), and Jorje, who was supposed to arrive late. Everyone was there by the time we actually started rehearsing, as HaMakor seems to always do. We started a bit after 4:30. We started with my piece, and worked on that for 3ish hours- we taped somewhere a bit before 8. That was all sorts of draining- it's a fairly fast song, and teaching my own material is always emotionally draining, although I think it was much more cohesive than last year, although it still needs an ending, and a few tweaks. But it isn't missing measures, and overall seems functional. But it was a whole big effort. And then we had Hanukah candlelighting, once that got organized, which was hard to do with 6 adults who were lighting as well as 2 four-year-olds, plus 2 adults who weren't lighting, and 2 babies (14 months and 3 or 4 months), and consequently took quite a while. And then dinner, and then the second piece. ANd so we left somewhere around 11:30, and got back just before midnight. Phew, I'm exhausted. Bedtime now, shower in the morning, I think. ANd then to commence writing almost 30 pages in 3 days. Fun... Or Not At All, to quote an old, old, old joke.
