have you ever noticed that people tend to write more when they're unhappy? Happiness just seems to be perceived as boring, and/or inappropriate- like it's bragging or something. I find myself doing it lots: when I'm unhappy, I'll kvetch, often in writing. But when I'm happy, it often seems too personal, or inappropriate or too boring for other people to want to read, and so I don't write it. Some of it is a matter of how much time you have or make- but, still... It's a bit of a sad statement about life/society/this age group/something.
