I'm sans internet connection again for a bit: the gentleman can to uninstall my apartment's previous occupants' internet connection yesterday (and made me sign something over Chag which was rather unpleasant), so now we're actually getting our own: we just need to deal with starting service and whatever installation needs to be done. So- for a week or two I'll be online only sporadically. Hey- with all the chagim, it's probably the easiest time to be doing this.
In the annecdotes department:
I think it was before Shabbos, or maybe it was before Yontif,
redlily and I were trying to figure out how to open the coconut I rather impetuously bought before Rosh HaShanah at the grocery store. I tried hitting it with a hammer for a while, to no avail, as I don't have either a large nail Or a log-splitting err- peg? mega-nail? whatever those things are called that Dad uses. So we immitated seagulls, and she went outside and I threw the coconut out the kitchen window, and she brought it up and we rinsed it off. No coconut milk, but plenty of coconut- although getting the meat/fruit out is a bit challenging from the way it happened to split. Maybe I'll start using my screwdrivers to pry it out...
I think I'm actualyl starting to make some sort of progress with my thesis. Must find my blank CDs, or at least A blank CD/floppy so I can take my preliminary interview script and email it to my advisor....
