How dorky is it that I spent a chunk of my lunch time working on my homework assignment to learn the Syriac alphabet by writing [livejournal.com profile] zodiacmg a note in Hebrew, but in the Syriac alphabet? (My Aramaic just isn't good enough to write much of any sort of note in yet. At least, not unless I really need to be writing a note about the tree of life, tilling, how spiffy Torah is, or evil spirits/plagues.) How much more dorky is it that I really enjoyed said activity?

And how predictable was it that we spent all of Aramaic classtime today talking about Syriac rather than finishing up on Genesis Apocryphon, when the Professor said we'd be trying to push through 10-15 lines of the latter, not paying real attention to grammar points, in order to get through some actual storyline as we finished up?
