Work

So there's finally work, starting at 1:30 this afternoon. So 3 hours of work today, and then Friday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It feels a little unreal: it's been over a week since I've had work. That makes it both better and worse: better becuase it hasn't been wearing on me, but worse because the time to dread the boredom and bad parts of the job has done its job, and I'm hardly looking forward to those 4 full days, even though it isn't much time at all. But well, it's only a few days, and if I'm not perfectly on top of everything, at least it won't matter too much. It's pretty unlikely that I'll end up back at this job: even if I were to end up in Boston next summer somehow, I doubt I'd have a car, and Framingham is a shlep, not to mention that I'd rather do something else. So... I should get myself ready to go for now, and my 3 hours on the job before getting ready for Tisha B'Av in this heat.

The Power of Previous Associations

It's funny, working in telephone research, I've gotten to know a few different area codes- and the ones that I seem to remember are ones where either I know someone, or where I have another association with the number. So I'm remembering quite well that 770 is Georgia... I don't know- it amuses me.
