It's funny, I've been seeing ressemblances between people I meet or see and all sorts of people I know lately. A couple of the folks I met yesterday looked rather like folks I've known in other contexts for years. Funny how that seems to happen in waves. Especially since by all rights, there oughtn't be any particular ressemblances: one wasn't even coming from the same ethnic backgrounds, it would seem.

I was going through random LJ stuff during one of my 5 minute breaks at work and found a set of questions I don't think I even answered from
doctor_nine. I'm putting them up here so I can go back and answer them soon.
Same old rules go: if you want me to ask you questions (or if I was supposed to at some other time and never did, or you lost them or something), leave a comment.
Questions
1. Describe the natural habitat/home planet of the Purple Rhinoceros.
The natural home planet of the Purple Rhinoceros revolves around a small, arty sun that is usually a normal sun, but emits brilliant purple sparks on alternate Thursdays. There are 3 planets closer to the sun, but none are inhabitted. On this planet, Purple Rhinoceri live in green swamps in the tropical zones, where they eat rose-like flowers and prize the thorns as a particular delicacy. They enjoy resting on the large shelf-like rocks that are found frequently in the tropics of that planet. A related breed of magenta rhinoceri live in the polar zones, where they mostly eat ice-lilacs.
2. What's the worst butchering of your name that you can recall?
Hmm- Kosokosow was pretty bad, and I seem to remember getting something like Faslewski once- but I think that was written: don't know if that counts.
3. Is the Guide for the Perplexed really effective as such, or is it more perplexing?
It's mostly much more perplexing. The beginning may actually solve some perplexities about specific word meanings, but unless you are perplexed in a very Aristotelian science and/or kalaam vs. traditional Judaism sort of set of issues, the Guide mostly confuses one more than it helps.
4. Of the various sci-fi/fantasy realms you've enjoyed and thought a lot about, which would you most like to live in or see for yourself?
I'm not at all sure, but honestly any quiet backwater of one of those universes would be nice. I was always rather fond of Heinlein's future history universe because it managed to be interesting without too much random bloodshed or violence. I could see the Enchanted Forrest being a rather pleasant place to live too, given a bit more caution.
5. Why do we always walk in circles when we're together?
I think it's because we follow each other's drift because we'd rather not make decisions or something. Either that or we're secretly cowlike and prefer curved paths and this is the closest that we can get.
