So I spent a good chunk of yesterday mildly distressed because my chevruta didn't respond to my email about when to meet to do our homework- luckily [livejournal.com profile] margavriel was kind enough to help me out some when I did do most of the preparations then anyways. But I was still pretty irked that he didn't get back to me, and about ending up doing his work for him, quite possibly. As things turned out, his mother was in the USA for just a day, so he was with her most of the day, and saw my email but didn't realize it was a. from me or b. personally related to his life. Myself, when I see an email titled "when the heck are we studying", I presume it must be personal unless it's very likely to be spam or something. But whatever... So- it was a lot of annoyance for a while, but we met and reviewed the stuff over lunch. It means we didn't really discuss it in much depth, and it felt very rushed, but life goes on. (I was also surprised that he didn't recognize some of the commentary pieces that we'd done in class briefly on Thursday. When I saw them, I went "Oh, we've Done this before. Nifty- I know what's going on already.) I guess everyone's memory works a bit differently.

Other than that, I'm just trying to balance the value of stayign at dancing for a good chunk of time, versus getting back and getting to bed at an earlier, if not early, hour.

On a high point, I bought a bunch of books for classes finally (although far from all of them as of yet), and there's something really exciting about owning these particular books- they're the sorts of things I've wanted for a while, but thought I couldn't justify the expense, especially as I didn't Really know how to use them. But now I need them, and I'm learning to use them, and it's really exciting to have them here, at my fingertips, as it were. And I'm finding in class- especially my Miqra'ot Gdolot class, that I'm capable of doing a lot more competently than I thought I was. It's really satisfying.
