I really did do a lovely amount of walking today. I spent the morning after minyan hanging around a bit, and then I printed off readings for the first part of the week and did a few of those. However after that, I called my folks and walked to the Judaica shop to get the gemara I need for this semester, and kept talking to them for much of the walk back, and then stopped to run a few errands on the way. I got home to find a message from
mbarr about going out for dinner for
masteraleph's birthday, so I did homework until it was time to leave, then met up with folks at a restaurant for that. Afterwards, a few folks had to run off for a meeting, but I walked back with
masteraleph and
crewgrrl, where in theory I was going to do work while hanging out with them. I didn't get reading done, but it was nice to hang out and chat for a while anyways. And then I walked the rest of the way home, and talked to
jakal88 on the phone as I went. So we got a really nice conversation in today too. And I did all of that talking and walking, and still got a reasonable amount of homework done. Not bad for a Sunday, I think.
Over the walk home this evening, I saw: two friends, a band in the middle of the sidewalk consisting of a string bass, a harmonica and an accordion (and the people to play them), and some folks carrying a mattress down the streets, quite casually. It was a cheery walk.
