I had an unusually nice time at dancing tonight- there was a nice combination of having friends there (including
gimmelgirl and spouse, whom I don't see so much lately, since we're busy in different sorts of places/times these days, and whom I haven't danced with in ages, and it was really lovely- I'd forgotten how much fun they are to have around at dancing), having partners for the couples sets (and for two of those, the partner Being a friend which is always ever so much more fun than dancing with strangers), a program with some dances I like quite a bit, and them teaching and re-teaching a new dance that seemed fun (although the name totally escapes me- something by Rafi Ziv), Debka Tamir (which I'd been actually thinking about and wanting to do- it's been quite a while), and Shuvi Yefefiya, (which is just cute and fun and fairly easy).
Also,
jakal88 and I came up with an amusing idea for a Purim shtick sketch, and I wrote it down, so hopefully I'll remember to retrieve it around Purim time (in the past, we've generated Purim shtick at all other times of the year, and then have no clue when it starts approaching springtime.) (Also, I found a suggestion for a Purim costume online that I think would be fun- a Pratchett Black Ribbon-er, to play with the whole vampire obsession going on lately- the needed props: dustpan, brush, black ribbon, explanatory note, vial of blood. I have or could easily assemble those (or well, water with red food coloring for the last)...
As for the regular day, today- it wasn't bad, but no thrills either. I read reasonably proficiently in halakha class, which is always a relief, but there was nothing else to really remark on.
