I just remembered that I wanted to try downloading the music from Lishma again- and it's playing now. Haven't tried to really download it yet. But at least it plays. So now I can play it ad infinitum so I really learn these couple of songs and then I can start inflicting them on people here. I'd forgotten how much new-to-me music I encountered this summer.
Also- I was talking to Steve and thinking about how odd it feels not to be composting here- I mean, this isn't a dorm room, and my only paradigms prior ot this for "home" situations have been houses with gardens or dorm rooms. So I feel a little funny every time I throw out carrot peels or egg shells or any of that sort of thing. But it isn't like there's a yard to use it on here, or even that we'd be here long enough for it to be worthwhile, barring unforseen happenings. But it's still sort of odd for me. I'm getting used to it. But it's rather like a friend of Mom's who for years used to keep a jar of skimmed-off chicken fat from making chicken soup in her fridge and then would have to throw it out because it would go bad- but she did it because her mother did. Of course, her mother actually used it for other cooking. In contrast, I'd like to someday be able to have and use a compost pile- I have not-so-secret fantasies about vegetable gardens in my future. But part of the "it just feels like what you Do" attitude is the same...
