Unless I change something with my schedule all 3 of my classes meet (at least some of the time- for one class, 3 of its 5 hours) in one particular room. I've had two of those so far, and will have the last in a few hours. So far so good, although the class I shopped yesterday, with a particularly interesting topic (Feminism and World Religions) seemed to have a not-so-interesting professor. I'll try it again on Friday to make sure. But that would mean dropping Yiddish, which would be unfortunate. But if I do, and instead pick up that course or another one that counts, I could have a Women's Studies/Women and Gender Studies minor, which I suppose might be useful, since a good chunk of my sociological and halakhic academic interests involve gender to a sizable extent. Anyone have advice there? I just have no idea how much worth a minor really has... But I'm rather excited about The Bible in Aramaic- it'll involve a new alphabet (Syriac) at the end of the semester, and I just really enjoy such things... Maybe it's to make up for my abysmal handwriting in English (and, most likely, Hebrew- it's just harder for me to know there: I probably just write like a kid. And my Arabic handwriting wasn't, I think, horrid. But then, I'm convinced that Arabic can make Anyone's handwriting look pretty.) And I'm really fond of the professor, and I seem to already know nearly everyone in the class... It's sort of funny, Prof. Wright remarked that this must be the largest Aramaic class anywhere outside of Jerusalem. There were 17 or 18 of us there today.

Minors are vaguely useful in the resume/cv setting... that said, are you sure you could even declare one this late? most depts have a deadline that is before you last semester

also, in an unrelated note, I bought an address book today :)

To play the Devil's Advocate, having a feminism/women's studies concentration of any sort can result in being stigmatized...

Huzzah!

The Vortex

Well, they keep sending me emails saying I could- since I've already taken all but one of the courses I'd need, I guess.
