Silly Weird Question

Is it just me (or just this particular tube of toothpaste that I bought last time I went shopping), or does regular Crest toothpaste really taste like root beer soda?

although crest has a vanilla-mint flavor, which sorta tastes like root beer

Methyl Salicylate

Both toothpastes and rootbeers use wintergreen oil (methyl salicylate). It wouldn't surprise me if Pepto Bismol also had methyl salicylate, too.
