All this moving to NYC is making me think about Jewish Geography, especially since I know bunches of folks there coming in, and they seem to be meeting each other without me even needing to be involved. ([livejournal.com profile] calliope_epic seems to know [livejournal.com profile] seliginegypt [who conveniently has an LJ moniker without even using the thing], not to mention less new-to-me interpersonal connections.) Being at [livejournal.com profile] orawnzva and [livejournal.com profile] fiddledragon's housewarming/househappying certainly brought that stuff to mind as well. It's both a very comforting and rather disturbing thing, this way that one's world just keeps getting more and more interconnected.

And please, if in the midst of my transition of location we're spending time and I start introducing you to someone I know whom I thought you didn't know, but you do know them- bear with me, tell me how you know each other already, and I will do my very best not to repeat this whole shpiel.

On a related note, I had a very nice visit this afternoon with Steve and Steve, who are LJ-less, and the course of conversation brought them to tell me that I know or at least know-by-reputation-and-stories something that seems like about half the NewJew population. A strange thing, for a public school alumna. (On the other hand, I did have a Latin teacher who threw empty plastic bottles at blind-covered windows. Would this scare you? Would it s care you if I'd said tossed, instead of threw?)

I'm still deciding if I want to get up early tomorrow and try and get into no-man's-land before rush hour really hits, and have breakfast and such then, or if I want to just wait until rush hour calms down, and not get home until the very beginning of afternoon. Of course, unless you comment quite soon with such input, I won't see your comment before I leave. But I figured that since I'm rambling, I might as well ramble a little bit more.
