I ended up going to the concert, albeit rather late (even later than it started, which was apparently a good 20 minutes after it claimed it would start, ahh, JST), and had a really nice time. As usual, I felt rather awkward during the social stuff during intermission and after the concert, but there was some really nice music, and it's always good to go see good music performed partially by folks one sort-of knows. This is good motivation to remember when Steve's assorted concerts are, and to drag some friends with me: it's been an awfully long time since I've been able to go to any of his performances- and I think one or two are just across the street...

Steg and I once left a particular event (in the middle, kammuvân). I said: "Well, now we're out of that socially awkward situation." He replied: "All situations are socially awkward."

The star had told everyone except, well, publicity, that it was going to start at 8. The video guys were like, "oh, we'll start early" when I told them at 7:45 that we were gonna start, and the musicians weren't even all THERE yet.
The star figured people would trickle in over the first half hour, and they'd start at 8.
I think he forget it was in a concert hall and not in a bar....
