Mending

My mending pile is getting frighteningly large. Some point soon I must do some serious triage and mending/throwing out. I think some quiet social time with mending, magnetic poetry (which I now have- yay for Mom and Goodwill), tea and the like sounds like a good idea for some point in the near future. Now just to find folks with similar sorts of interests...

Do you know how to hem knit pants? I need to do that. Alot. Just look - you'll see me walking on my pants. Unless I'm wearing a skirt. Now you know why I like skirts.

I think I've hemmed knit pants- no, I know I have, many times. It's just like hemming other pants, except that one tends to need to leave the pins in while hemming because they don't hold a crease so well, so ironing in the new hem line isn't as helpful.

I have a rather large mending pile as well. Or, perhaps, a small mending pile and a large alterations pile. However, it is not nearly as large as the pile of things to make from scratch. :-)

Hmm, I just throw out stuff and buy new things. I'm a staunch consumerist. :)
I should try mending... every now and then.
