I spent New Years Eve at a party held by ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
chinchillama and her husband who is sans LJ, at his parents' house. I was a bit nervous beforehand, as I wasn't sure who would be there, or what the social atmosphere would be like. It turned out to be quite comfortable and pleasant over all, and I got a chance to see some folks I wouldn't have seen otherwise, even besides our hosts. On the other hand, it was a bit strange as I was friends with a large number of the folks there each on their own, or nearly so, and was much less sure of myself with them as a clump. (Which has often been what happens with me with these friends in large groups. It was still fun, don't get me wrong. But I was there talking to individuals, and some other folks where there interacting with the whole mini-mob.) And things got progressively more comfortable as the time went on, in general.
And then today I had lunch withdoctor_nine and afterwards we went for a walk with qianian and generally relived a piece of high school. It was fun and I definitely felt during parts of it much like I did while in high school.
