Shabbos this week went surprisingly well. Mom and Dad went to a movie Friday night at the Unitarian Society, and before Shabbos started I made chocolate oatmeal cookies. So when they came home, Mom and I did some singing- it's been ages since I did that, it feels like, and it was nice enough that (on my own, before they got home) I even sang some of the tunes I'd been deadly sick of, back at school. But then, I hadn't been staying to sing after dinner much last semester, so I've had some time to get unsick of them. And my layning went well, thank G-d (it felt like a real achievement, especially since I managed to calm down the nerves by the end of the third aliyah or so. In any case, it was the most layning I've learned in a week, and the first time I've layned at Beth Shalom- and I got compliments too). Everything was generally pleasant and motivated and good (a dull adjective, but I've yet to find a better one that fits here).
