Went grocery shopping with [livejournal.com profile] redlily- she's officially good company for grocery shopping. And now I have food. And it's put away. But we now have frighteningly large quantities of onions- Amy got onions too, and didn't put them away, so I didn't know. But I once again have the sorts of foods that I have to have to make it feel like a household. Maybe it's a genetic thing, but no home feels legitimate without onions and potatoes available for use.

Have been generally unproductive today- but I did spend 2 and a half hours on the phone with Mom. Really remarkable- that just doesn't Happen with me. And there's coleslaw to show for it (chopping all that cabbage, etc is really dull without someone to talk to), and I *think* I've removed the rest of that splinter from my heel. It's feeling much better after lots of soaking in very hot water.

Also, applied baking soda and vinegar to the sink drain. I hope it helped. Still need to clean the bathroom though.

Onions last, and you need them for a huge variety of cooking things. I think we should be ok. ANd I only bought 2, albeit 2 large ones...

That's true. I really like cooking with onions, but my eyes get really sensitive when someone's chopping them up, so I didn't cook with them much last year (Koren has the same issue—neither of us wanted to chop them, so we didn't eat them).

Onions are like... the ultimate filler food. Cheap, taste good in everything...

Oh, and I'm jealous because you have groceries and I don't. I need veggies! And tofu!
