An opossum wandered by the window in front of davenen this morning, much to everyone's confusion, since they are, as far as we all could remember, nocturnal. I did a project on them back in elementary school (and made a stuffed one, although I wasn't sophisticated enough in my sewing to give it legs- but it had a body and a tail, and possibly eyes, and we had it for quite a while, and I was actually quite fond of it.), but I'd never seen a live one for long before. (I saw one at night once, but it moved pretty fast- all I could tell was that it wasn't a cat.) I was surprised that I could identify it so easily.

poor thing, though since davening is so early it's possible it was just heading back to its home. If it was looking sick, weaving, circling... someone should alert public saftey, since they can carry distemper and sometimes rabies.

It was just scurrying along by the window, getting wherever it was going pretty efficiently- from where I was, it looked just fine- just up past its bedtime. Davening isn't until 7:45- the sun is generally up pretty darn well by the time I leave my apartment to walk there. Maybe it had insomnia?

I guess so, though I still think before 8 is early :)

Good name for a band, the insomnia possums...

Usdan- the "new international lounge"- aka right under where international lounge was, that is now the financial aid office.

Dude, I totally saw this enormous raccoon just saunter really casually across the main path near the library the other evening. I was floored . . . plus I finally got to see for myself the resemblance between raccoons and pandas.
