I realized today that I don't own any non-leather shoes at this point, at least not that I have with me, and I think not at all. I know that I realized this at Tisha B'Av, and borrowed sandals from my apartmentmate. So, I guess socks with no shoes it is- probably the slipper-sock things that have at least a little traction. If this is my worst lack of preparation for the holiday, that would be pretty good, though.

Spiritually- well, I have no idea where I stand. Being sick has been a very strange addition to the Aseret Y'mei Tshuvah. We'll see how the fast goes.

Thanks- it wasn't bad, I just blew my nose on occasion. The only bad part was having a coughing fit that was really hard to stop when I was going to sleep- in general it was a remarkably Easy fast. Go know. I think having spent the week subsisting more on tea than on food had gotten my stomach used to things, and had also gotten be actually well hydrated before the fast.
