I'm into that annoying stage of a cold where I only need to blow my nose a few times a day, but somewhere slightly before my usual bedtime I start coughing quite steadily and find it very difficult to stop doing so. It's kind of annoying, rather frustrating, and limits my nighttime activity some- hard to focus when every breath makes one want to cough. But at least I know that this is a stage in recovery...

I've been thinking about behavior at JTS and how that relates to perceptions of halakha, and how those perceptions relate to my perceptions. But I can't seem to write about it intelligently now/yet. That too is rather frustrating.

I'm thinking this, along with the coughing etc distracting me from doing homework beyond that which I already did which was due tomorrow is meaning that bedtime will be soon.

Being sick is a whole lot of no fun at all. I was having a severe allergy attack during services erev YK due to being in a room full of people wearing hairspray/perfume/cologne/etc. It made it very hard to have any kavanahs when I had to blow my nose and wipe my tears every minute or so. Yuck. Probably would also make it hard to study. Refuah shlema and all that.

Don't let Fred (which is what I use for Steve) see my horrible transliterations.

That sounds really unpleasant (and one wonders why people felt the need for so much scented stuff going into a fast day)- I'm glad it didn't continue the whole day as well. And thank you.

I won't- if I knew where said horrible transliterations were hiding, but I can't find them.
