I just got my paycheck for being a mashgiach at the JTS cafeteria for a month this summer. I'd forgotten about the fact that I hadn't been paid yet, basically- so it was quite a nice surprise.
Another cute/funny item, this one from Sunday: I was doing a preliminary "what do we want to learn/how do we want to be treated/what do we want to get from class" exercise with my class of Kindergarten and first graders. In a tangent, one of them asked me the following question: "Was G-d born before or after Cleopatra?" (Yes, I answered the question with the important information about how G-d wasn't born, G-d has always been- which means that He was around before Cleopatra... I just thought it was an adorable question.)
