I walked ot the town library yesterday to return something for my parents.  It's about 2 miles each way,and yesterday was quite hot- I'd say that it wasn't the world's best idea, but I did have fun with it.   I haven't been there in years at this point- it was pleasant to see it again, to spent some time there just reading, and to reflect on how wonderfully many people were there.

In any case, as I was walking, I went past a church with the following statement on their announcement board in their yard: "J.C. has A.C."

It was the only thing on the board- it made me giggle.

That reminds me of the analysis of whether heaven or hell is hotter, as reproduced here (http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/hell.htm).

That reminds me of the following conversation, that took place in a friend's car in summer of 2000 in Dallas.

Sign in front of a Southern Baptist church: No, it is not hotter than hell.
Me: That does not amuse me.
Sandra: It amuses me. But then, Baptists in general amuse me. They're so fun to watch!
Adela: Why are we driving out to rent anime then? Why don't we just find a Baptist and watch him?

...and yet, thinking back on those innocent summer days of childhood, the main thought that comes to mind is, "Imagine--having to drive across town to watch something that is now endlessly available on youtube."

(Just my tangentally connected two cents.)
