Working on high holiday stuff early today went quite well, but then I got full-up for the moment, and stopped.  Then I went back to it this evening, and nothing new would stay in my head.  Hopefully the practice tonight will make it stick quickly tomorrow, at least. 

It was a pretty quiet day, with little of real note: besides the high holiday stuff, I worked on sorting some of my things in the attic (and found a random thing that used to be for some sort of OT activity way back when that will make a good new earring rack to replace the one that died in moving home from Syracuse), read, did a bit of crochet on the huppah-center (and it isn't looking silly in the larger thread, thank goodness- quite different in feel, but attractive), and wrote some emails and the like.  Also of note, I am trying to sell one of my trombones, and I finally got an inquiry into it.  Hopefully this will work out- I don't need the trombone (I haven't played in about 5 years, and I have another one that suits my music preferences better- this is a jazz horn, basically.  It was what I bought with some of my Bat Mitzvah money.), and I could use the cash towards rent and tuition and the like.

Hey hey! I'll be in the city for the high holidays, and if you're around, I could pretty easily come a bit early or stay after (if I can find where to stay) in order to see you folks. I've missed you both over the last year- what a bummer that I head off as soon as you get back, basically.

We'd love to see you, but we're not up to having anyone stay here yet as we're not set up. We're very sorry about that. If it works out, though, can we see you on chag (or if you are able to be here before or after -- after is probably better)?

My only availability on chag is second day RH lunch and afternoon (provided it isn't raining- I'm leading services Way downtown, and planning to walk up afterwards, unless it rains, in which case I'll just stay there- they have a rainy day lunch option set up for me- I'm only leading morning services for RH), or the evening afterwards potentially, except for the not having somewhere to stay issue. If you're free then, that might work... Otherwise, I'm not really sure how I'd manage, although I may see if there's somewhere I could stay for Shabbat Shuvah, in which case I could see you in there- let me figure things out a bit more.
