Search for Recommendations and Advice

H and I are on to looking for a photographer and DJ. Do any of you fine people who have gotten married or have planned big events in the very general part of the world have any recommendations or anti-recommendations? There are all sorts of people/companies online, and well- if there's someone that I know comes recommended, then that gets me pointed in Some direction to start.

Planning to get an Israeli dance DJ? If so, make sure that they don't violate city noise laws. My friend's wedding had the police arrive three times due to noise complaints about Israel Yakovee's DJing.

Good to know- but no, we're aiming for a regular DJ who can do all the simcha dancing and secular dancing, and we'll just give him/her the music for the IFD that we want (which will be oldies, basically- that way some more folks will know them, and others can follow. We did some newer stuff at my sister's wedding, and it didn't go so well...)
