I have good luck with Burts Beeswax. It isn't perfect, but it works quite well, overall, for me. In general, if it's wax-based rather than petroleum based, it generally works better for me, and I tend to prefer high wax content to mostly oils... If I'm going to do something petroleum-based (and for the worst of chapped lips, somehow, the whole equation switches- vaseline put on overnight works wonders, and the blistex medicated stuff. But using those things regularly just seems to screw up my lips.)

Sorry, that was a whole dissertation on the topic, which I'm sure you didn't need. But, having once upon a time played a brass instrument, I have rather strong opinions on the subject...
