Work today was one of those sort of timeless days. I spent the morning working on the library (Which suddenly started doing something annoying to me- I'll probably have to bug someone to fuss with it- it still works, but this way is definitely somewhat slower, which starts to matter when you're dealing with that many books, not that I'll finish all of them, or even anywhere close in the next week and a half anyways), and the afternoon doing some random little things and otherwise sitting there and reading stuff online while covering the front desk. And telling everyone that they should come in Tomorrow to apply for the job in the kosher kitchen.
There's a pocket knife on the desk next to this computer for some reason, and I have decided that they definitely don't open easily when one has nails that are just a bit too long.
I actually had a pretty decent conversation on the phone with my grandmother earlier tonight, although it had the usual older person tendency to focus on the same topic for a bit too long. But other than than and the comment about the end about how older family members always love their children/grandchildren/etc more than they live the older person back, it was a nice conversation. She and my grandfather are coming for dinner on Wednesday, since I'm sans parents this week. Should be decent, I hope. It'll be a real meal at least, that I don't have to figure out how much to make for just me- cooking for one is confusing. I think I'll work on the leftovers, or something like that. Although the yellow squash is starting to pile up, and I'm starting to get into the mood for stir-fry again. (Ahh, real international cooking: stir fry with techini and soy sauce... A family favorite.)
On the topic of food- during my visit this weekend, we walked around the neighborhood some, and lots of the houses have Nasturtiums- and Theirs are all flowering already. Ours are just slow, and I'm frustrated- I want them to flower so I know they're big enough to start eating from, even if I mostly eat the leaves, not the flowers. (ALthough eating flowers is just one of the world's more amusing gustatory passtimes. Especially with people who've never done so before.)
