Sunday is a much less work-efficient day than it ought to be. THere's all that unscheduled time where I could be reading and working and getting things done- but somehow the things that get done aren't always homework. Sure, the cleaning usually has been done recently, but it seems to be the ideal time for long phone calls with the parents, non-essential reading, and attempts to catch up on sleep. These are all important things, but it still doesn't get enough homework done. I need to find a better way to get myself to work efficiently on Sundays. I did more so when I had less time, but well, I could use the time too. Maybe if I schedule things in my head? But that rarely works: without other people to base things around, schedules are just too flexible.

I spent a bunch of time at the B'yachad auditions too: sure, I got to do work during most of it, but it wasn't the best atmosphere for that, and I had a few moments of real indignation when Steve described the recreational dancing that [livejournal.com profile] zodiacmg and I will be running as a "subsection of B'yachad". I said we'd be happy to work with them, we're not darned part of their organization! We've got different purposes, it's not like either of us are in B'yachad, or if I'd auditioned again, if I'd have had any chance of getting in. If we're a subsection of their group, we wouldn't have to leave the room when they did the actual auditioning, right? It's a little thing, but it really bothered me. Maybe I'm just being too touchy. But I don't like people making inaccurate claims, especially when they're trying to appropriate work that I'm doing that they'll just be benefitting from.

So I got a call back from Hillel lounge, with the info that a. none of the spaces I'd requested were free, and that no, they couldn't tell me of an unbooked space I could use for running dancing tomorrow. And that we shouldn't expect something in under 2 weeks, and that we might want to start planning for starting in a month and a half, which I think is completely ridiculous. So I just went and filled out a new room reservation form, including the fact that we'd be happy to use a classroom with movable desks that we could get out of hte way. It's far from ideal, but heck, it would work. Next semester I can set this up before winter break, and maybe it'll be less of a problem. But right now, I'm just frustrated- if it was going to take this long, why didn't they tell me that rather than asking if I could start the next week, as if it took no time at all, almost?
