Indecision

I cannot make up my mind about whether I want to go to the concert here at JTS tonight or to go dancing at the JCC. The former turns out to be free- someone was giving away a ticket. The latter would be money, plus subway fare. On the other hand, I haven't danced in ages, and could use the exercise. However, I plan on going dancing Sunday night- but that's oldies, so it isn't quite the same thing. I believe I would know at least someone at dancing tonight- the sibling of someone I know from dancing back in New Haven, whom I ran into on the Subway out to see sharonaf on Sunday. However, dancing happens every week, and the concert is a one-time thing, and includes an appearance by Alicia Svigals, which would be pretty darn cool. So- I'm leaning towards going to the concert, but I feel a bit ambivalent. Also because I'm not sure if anyone I know is actually Going to the concert- going to concerts alone is rarely so much fun...

Concert

I ended up going to the concert, albeit rather late (even later than it started, which was apparently a good 20 minutes after it claimed it would start, ahh, JST), and had a really nice time. As usual, I felt rather awkward during the social stuff during intermission and after the concert, but there was some really nice music, and it's always good to go see good music performed partially by folks one sort-of knows. This is good motivation to remember when Steve's assorted concerts are, and to drag some friends with me: it's been an awfully long time since I've been able to go to any of his performances- and I think one or two are just across the street...
